I just recently got my tongue pierced about 5 days ago and I love it but I do have numbness in the tip of my tongue and I was wondering if that would ever go away because it's affecting my taste buds and I can't taste anything on the tip of my tongue. Do u know if that's permanent or not?

Ok, first let me say, great and informative site. A great deal of helpful information, with lack of personal opinion. I have a decent amount of experience with tattoos and piercings. With that being said, let me say that everyone's body is different. People are more or less sensitive to foreign bodies introduced to their system than others. What may be painless and problem free for one person, may be a complete nightmare for another. I've seen persons reject piercings and/or ink and I've seen people heal from nipple piercings (mostly the longest healing time for body piercings) in as little at a month. So it's all about the individual. Also, just because one part of your body does well with a tattoo or piercing, doesn't mean the rest of your body will follow suit. I guess it all depends what you are willing to risk for your planned body modifications. I personally plan on having my own nipples pierced and have considered my tongue as well. So take all the pros and cons listed here on this website into consideration and make absolutely sure you follow all of your after care instructions precisely. How you care for your tattoo/piercing can be the difference between that sexy eyebrow or labret piercing or an unsightly infected wound followed by heinous scarring.
