I personally find Navel Piercing as the sexiest piercing of all. Navel is one of the most sensual and erogenous parts of a your body and what better sight than glittering body jewelry teasing on from a well toned slender stomach.
It is interesting how Navel piercing, which was an inevitable part of some primitive cultures came in Vogue in America.
The invention of Bikini brought about a revolution in women’s lives in 1953. The display of navel was seen as a very bold and sexually provocative act. Pop queen Madonna took this cult a little further by openly showing her midriff in 1980s. Madonna inspired women to be rather proud of their sexuality and flaunt it out in the open confidently.
However even till then there was no sign of navel piercing until 1994. Precisely, super model Christy Turlinton not only introduced but also immortalized the fashion of Navel piercing. She walked the ramp at a fashion show in London flaunting her bare midriff with a ring in the middle of her navel. Following her Naomi Campbell flaunted her bare midriff with a gold ring.
Navel Piercing slowly picked on from then and become a popular trend. After supermodels it was Popstars who carried the trend forward.
Women and men alike were fascinated with the art of Navel piercing. Now you find it almost everywhere and there are no signs fading of the trend until eternity.
