You have pierced your nose and are really excited about it. However, there are certain measures you need to keep in mind after getting your nose pierced.
Remember a piercing is a wound. Consequently, you should expect tenderness, swelling, discoloration, and possibly bruising, bleeding, and itching. Also, a natural part of the process for healing any wound includes the secretion of a white-yellow fluid (containing dead cells and blood plasma). This fluid will dry and form crust on your jewelry. Use the following methods to clean the area
- Clean your nostril piercing twice a day for the next 3 days, once in the morning and again at night.
- You need to take special care especially during bath time.Make sure you don’t let soap, shampoo or conditioner enter the newly pierced area.
- Use a anti-bacterial soap to wash the newly pierced area.Especially before touching it. This way you will avoid infections.
- Do not expose your piercing to cosmetics such as make-up, hair styling products, lotion, etc. Cosmetics contain many different ingredients and can cause irritation and infection.
- Over cleaning is the number one cause of irritated piercings, striping the natural skin oils will tend to dry the cartilage piercing out causing it to look red and irritated.
- Avoid going into a pool, hot tub, lake, etc. These types of water can be unclean and may induce infection.
- Keep these factors in mind till the piercing is healed. Once healed leave no stone unturned in showing off your nose ring

Hey, well as your guessing, I JUST PEIRCED MY NOSE! But the catch is, I did it myself. I just choved an earring in it because I was sick of my parents saying “No holes in your face till your 18″. I mean seriously, people at my school have there eyebrows, tounge, nose, lips, and MUCH more pierced. And Im in the 8th grade. So I thought it was my time to get the peircing I’ve always wanted, ever since like 5th grade.
But I DO NOT want to get it infected.
So is it okay if I use Poroxide and Alchohal?
I mean, I have (on my right ear) Three holes on the bottom, and 1 catledge.
And On my left ear I have 2 on bottom and 3 on cartledge.
So I mean, I have peircings, and thats what they say not to use.
But it is supposed to dry it up, and my pissed of mother wants me to use it.
But I’m not so sure.
I want to keep this peircing, I love it!
And it will be a story to tell, I did it myself.
But who doesn’t?
I mean at my age.
Every kid has.
AND NO I didnt do it to fit the croud, I’ve always wanted it peirced.
But my mom is gay, and wouldnt let me, so as I said I did it myself.
Blahhh, so is POROXIDE AND ALCHOHAL good enough to clean it with.
Sinseraly,
Marissa

DO NOT use peroxide or alcohol to clean it. you should use warm sea salt water (not regular salt, but sea salt) to clean it.
