Flashing of body piercing on the nipples has become the latest craze thanks to music diva Christina Aguilera. Her transparent tops flashing off her pierced nipples were a great hit amongst the youth.
Not many realized the implications of their actions. It was later that realization dawned on the “Hep Crowd” about the dangers of piercing. Christina Aguliera herself has removed the piercing from her nipples and is seen covering her assets.
Several researches conducted have shown how harmful body piercing can be when done without expert guidance. Unfortunately many of the youth get carried away by this craze and end up doing something, which is very hazardous.
The state government of America has passed a law, keeping this factor in mind. The law states that children under 16 will be permitted to have their body pierced only if they have parental consent.
Operators and beauticians who ignore this law will be fined a penalty of $2200. There is also a strict ban on piercing done on intimate body parts like the breasts and genital areas.
The penalty fine is higher for operators who resort to body modifications and tattooing in children who are under 18. The fine they would have to pay is $6600.
The officials however are worried that children will resort to underground methods to get their body pierced. So, efforts are being made to get rid of illegal underground sources of body piercing.
The quote” Being cruel to be kind” holds to be very true in this case. As parents and the government have to be a little strict in order to ensure that the children are on the right path. It would be nice if governments of other countries took notice and came up with a law like this.
