Like every other piercing there are certain Do’s and Don’ts with regards to genital piercing. One area, which is greatly affected, is your ability to have sex. With regards to male genital piercing here are some points that should be kept in mind.
- Shave your genital area before you start piercing.
- Abstain from sex for a period of time after the piercing. If you indulge in sex, your healing period may extend.
- When indulging in sex during the healing period make sure you do not expose the piercing to the partner’s body fluids. As a number of bacteria and other microorganisms are present in the oral and genital cavities which may lead to infection.
- One needs to be very careful if one has done a Prince Albert piercing, erections or orgasms may cause bleeding around the pierced area during the first week after piercing. One may find it difficult to urinate while standing too.
- Genital piercing rarely interferes with intercourse. But one should always make sure of the partners consent and make sure that the condom doesn’t tear.
Keep these points in mind if you are planning t get a piercing done.
