Wearing on your nipple ring while breastfeeding can be hazardous as there are chances that the babe may swallow the ring. Here are some points that will help you understand your body in a better way.

• Sometimes you may find your T-shirt wet, especially the front portion. Also you may be smelling of milk. This may happen due to leakage of milk from the piercing area.
• Remove your piercing before you breastfeed.
• Nipple piercings heal after the piercing is removed. There are many who fear that milk will stop flowing once the piercing is closed. Well you need not not worry as there is no such evidence of this happening.
• Do not worry that your baby will be choked because of extra milk flowing from the pierced area.
• Do not get a piercing done during pregnancy as it may complicate the pregnancy.
• Do not re pierce your nipples several times. It may lead to an infection.

Keep these points in mind before you breastfeed your baby.
