It is very important that you get your piercing done in a hygienic place. Getting it done in an unhygienic place can cause you skin infection.
But how will you know that the place you are getting your piercing done is hygienic or not. Tricky isn’t it??
Here are some points which will help you determine whether the place you have chosen is safe or not.
- As soon as you enter a body piercing clinic check for a Certification from a Board of Health. This will tell you whether the practitioner is certified or not.
- Look to see if the studio is clean or not. Make sure that the practitioner uses disposable gloves and needles.
- Check to see if the studio has an autoclave- a machine that is regulated by the FDA. This is a heat sterilization machine, which helps sterilize the needles.
- Make sure that the studio doesn’t use a piercing Gun instrument, as it cannot be sterilized properly, and using it can lead to infections.
- Make sure that the studio provides privacy while piercing private parts.
- The needles that are used on your body should be opened from a fresh pack. Do not allow the practitioner to use a needle that has been already used on someone else.
- Make sure you have someone along with you when you are getting the piercing done.
Keep these points in mind before you get a piercing done.
