A neck piercing is done on the loose tissue between the neck and the collarbone. It is also known as the Madison piercing. This piercing is one thing that will surely draw attention.

Before getting one done it is important that one take some necessary measures

1) This piercing takes 8 weeks to heal, so one has to be very careful during that time.

2) One has to wear loose clothing during the healing period because the tissue near the collar bone is very delicate so if the piercing gets stuck in the clothing, its prone to tear off from the skin.

3) Make sure that the jewelry used for neck piercing is light in weight and not very heavy, causing pressure on the tissues of the collarbone.

4) Regular cleaning of the pierced area is important.

Keep these points in mind before you get a neck piercing done.
