Nasal Piercing unlike other piercing is not done in the skin. It is done in the cartilage and takes a long time to heal. A minimum time period of 12-16 weeks is taken for healing.
The nasal piercing is done where the cartilage is the thinnest, at the curve f the nasal lining. There may be swelling initially and care should be taken to use a narrow band of piercing jewelry.
Also, nasal piercing is most prone to infection as the piercing internally is covered with mucous layers and is not exposed to air outside.
Externally dust, pollution and sebum (oil produced by the skin) block the skinĀ and cause infection on the skin.
Also be very careful when you are putting on your T-shirts as there are chances of the piercing rubbing against your skin.
Keep cleaning the piercing regularly and if there is a problem consult the doctor immediately.
