And since this piercing is done on the face, it is prone to lot of dust, sweat, breeze etc that may lead to an infection.
Regular cleaning of the piercing is necessary; if there is any form of unusual swelling or pus formation, contact your doctor immediately. Always wash your hands before you clean the jewelry.
Wash the piercing with anti-bacterial soap and rinse up the pierced area thoroughly, after which you wash it and let it air dry.
Also, make sure that you don’t keep fidgeting with the piercing and be careful while putting on your clothes. The piercing may get stuck in the threads and may come off.
After a period of two months you can change your jewelry, however, it is always considered good if a professional does it.
If regular aftercare is taken, there is absolutely no risk of infection. For a faster healing period take a dose of vitamin A and C.
