Should Jewelry Be Removed If the Piercing Is Infected
Should I remove my piercing, as the area I got it pierced is severely infected.???
This is a question often asked by many. In such cases doctors usually advise the individual to remove the piercing. But professionals advise the opposite i.e. they ask you to keep on the jewelry.
Removing the jewelry will only cause conditions to worsen. On removing the jewelry, the infection tends to get trapped in one’s body. But with the jewelry o the infection is forced to go out.
Other precautions require you to take lot of care i.e. washing hands before touching the piercing, using an anti bacterial agent to clean the piercing, rinsing the piercing with salt solution etc.
If the infection is worse, you should start taking antibiotics.
