Navel Piercing is very famous among the female gender. A quick and painless procedure, the pinch of the piercing is only felt during the healing period.

Infections may cause pain, swelling and pus formation. If regular after care is taken, healing will take place within 4-12 months.

It is important that one be careful with regards to the clothes one wears during the healing period. Tight clothes around the waist may cause friction and rejection and infection of the piercing.

It is important that the navel is exposed to air, clothing that helps the navel be exposed to air should be worn during the healing period.

Antiseptic medicine and regular rinsing with saline solution helps in the healing of the piercing. 

When pregnant, remove the piercing in the sixth month. As any type of infection during pregnancy will affect the fetus.
