This piercing is very similar to an industrial piercing. But the difference here is that two pierced areas are connected with the same jewelry instead of two separate pieces.

This piercing is generally done in the cartilage, however it is important that both the pierced areas heal, before the jewelry is looped in. Once placed the jewelry looks like an orbit around the ear, thus the name-Orbital Piercing.

One should be very careful when they get this piercing done as cartilage piercing takes a longer time to heal than lobe piercing.

Friction with the clothes or getting entangled with comb/hair etc may cause the piercing to tear off.

Also, usage of cell phones, headphones or listening to ipod should be considerably reduced.

Regular rinsing with saline solution and rubbing anti-bacterial cream on the pierced areas is a must.
