Endocarditis Due To Oral Piercing

Oral piercing carries a risk of suffering from Endocarditis, a condition where an infection caused due to a oral piercing, travels down the blood stream to the heart, hampering normal functioning of the heart. The bacteria present in the mouth travel through the valves of the heart causing great damage.

In cases of infections of oral piercing, immediate treatment should be given and the individual should be taken to the doctor immediately.

Rinsing the piercing with saline solution and using anti biotic will help prevent any kind of infection.

Utmost care should be taken to avoid any form of piercing.
