Avoiding Infections After A Piercing

Posted on September 4, 2008 in Latest News

When you get a piercing newly done, take every care to prevent infections.
It is a common myth that rotating the piercing will speedup up the healing but this is not the fact as it is in this condition that there is a high risk for infection formation.

As the jewelry is rotated, new bacteria is introduced in the piercing increasing the risk for infection.

Another chance of contracting infection could happen, if the infection is wiped with the same cloth again and again. Instead use disposable napkins to clean out a piercing. This way there is less risk of contracting an infection.

Warm compressions will help the piercing heal faster. Touching the piercing with washed hands are some of the other precautions one can take.
