Oral Labret piercing is one that is done below the lip. Based on the thickness of the tissue, the jewelry is used. In most cases a ball closure ring that is larger in diameter is used so that it can permit swelling.
Micro jewelry is also used but it has to be carefully observed. If you have decided to get this piercing here are some tips that will prove to be very useful
1) Do not keep rubbing against the jewelry as it may lead to an infection
2) Since this piercing is done towards the gum lining, there is a risk of the teeth being affected. So be very careful when chewing food, do not chew hard food.
3) Wash your hands before touching the piercing, as this will avoid infections.
4) Rinse your mouth with saline solution as it also helps fight infections.
All these precautions will help you have a safe piercing experience.
