Third Eye Piercing is one that is done on the forehead in between both the eyes. The third eye is considered to be a source of psychic energy. Many cultures also have God’s and other religious figures with a third eye. Due to its religious attribution, this piercing has gained a lot of prominence.

This piercing however, is most prone to migration and rejection and takes 8 weeks to heal. Also, this piercing being a surface piercing, is most likely to tear away from the skin.

One needs to be very careful when putting on and removing clothes as the piercing may tear off, if the dress gets stuck in the piercing and is pulled away.

One should also not fidget with the piercing as it may lead to an infection. Regularly rinsing the piercing with saline solution and applying anti-bacterial ointment helps fight against bacteria.

Taking the necessary precautions will ensure that you have a safe piercing.
