Very often after getting a piercing done, one will notice pus oozing from the piercing. Pus emerges only when the body senses that there is something wrong. It is definitely a sign of infection.
However, not all infections are dangerous, they can be prevented with the right type of care. Regularly rinsing the piercing with saline solutions, regular cleaning and applying antibacterial ointment at the piercing will greatly help prevent infection.
Washing hands before touching the piercing is a great way of preventing infection. If the piercing tends to get inflamed and turns red, immediate medical attention is necessary.
In case of severe cases the doctor should be contacted immediately and the right treatment should be sought.
