Why Does The Hole Of A Ear Piercing Close

Posted on October 20, 2008 in Latest News

Sometimes when people pierce their ears, they tend to suffer from severe pain and infection and tend to remove the piercing.

In such cases the hole tends to close up and individuals wonder if they should get their hole re-pierced again.

Also, in some cases individuals are allergic to the jewelry type and develop an infection, they then remove the jewelry and after some days find their piercing hole closed.

A piercing hole tends to close faster when no jewelry is placed in the hole and when the piercing is a recent one. However, if the piercing is been done years ago, there is no danger of the hole closing.

If an individual is reconsidering re-piercing, he / she should be very careful of the type of re-piercing they want.

An abandoned piercing will develop scar tissue and when this area is re-pierced it can be very painful and may not be able to stand the weight of the jewelry.

However, if the re-piercing is done at an area above the scar tissue, then it will be a successful one, and will ensure a strong grip for the jewelry that will be pierced.
