How To Dress For A Piercing Appointment

Dressing is a very important factor one should keep in mind before getting a piercing done. Here are some tips that will help you dress appropriately for a piercing appointment.

Eyebrow Piercing, Ear Piercing, Nose Piercing or any other piercing on the face Or Neck: For such piercing it would be advisable for both men and women that they wear shirts instead of T-shirts. So that they don’t have to pull over the clothing across the face just after a piercing. Doing it may cause the cloth to rub against the piercing leading to an infection.Women can also wear loose blouses.
Ear Piercing: If an ear piercing were done in the winter season, it would be better that one covers up the piercing. The metal in the ear piercing can get really cold and can cause great damage to the cartilage in the ear. What you cover the piercing with also matters. The best option here would be to cover the piercing with a scarf as it has lesser chances of putting pressure on the piercing and causing an infection to occur.

Nipple Piercing: Loose shirts and clothing around the chest would be advisable. Women can avoid wearing a bra after the nipple piercing, to avoid any risk of infection.

Navel Piercing:
It would be advisable for both men and women to not wear a one-piece suit when going in for a navel piercing, it will be very difficult to avoid the clothing to stick to the piercing once its done, and this may lead to an infection.

Men: Can wear loose pants
Women: Loose pants or skirt.

Genital Piercing:
Tight clothing again is a big no no here. Women are advised against wearing panty hoses and thongs. Jeans worn over the undergarments should also be loose and comfortable.

Men: Can wear boxers, as it would be easy to wear and remove without touching the piercing. Boxers with button fly’s, should be buttoned, post piercing to avoid the risk of the
