Body piercing is considered to be a fashion trend but one need to be very careful while opting for body piercing. From the metal you use for piercing to after care, everything is very important for a safe body piercing. There are very few metals which are best suited for body piercing. Based on the biocompatibility, the metal should be selected for piercing. You also need to check that the metal is non-allergic and hyporeactive to body tissue.
Listed below are metals you need to avoid as body piercing jewelry especially in initial piercing.
- Brass: This metal is not at all recommended for piercing. Brass and its alloy causes irritation and skin reactions.
- Copper: Copper is not safe metal for body piercing as it might cause skin reaction.

i got my lip pierced a couple months ago and it got infected….what helps the BEST is the biotene mouth wash which is like 10 dollars. Rinse your mouth out before u sleep and then after that clean the outer part of your lip with peroxide and itll heal within 4-5 days which is what happened to me. But you results maybe different since everyones body is different…i hope this helped
