Nose piercing is one of the oldest and common forms of body piercing. From nostril piercing to bridge piercing, there are numerous types of nose piercing. Be any type of nose piercing, proper cleaning is essential so as to reduce the risk of infection. Here are some of the effective and easy cleaning tips for your nose piercing:
- You need to clean your nose piercing daily with the help of antibacterial soap. You can even use lukewarm sea salt water for cleaning nose piercing.
- To remove the crust formed around the piercing jewelry, use a cotton ball soaked in salt water solution. Gently remove the crust and with tissue paper pat dry the area.
- Once the nose piercing is cleaned dab small amount of lavender oil on the pierced area. Lavender oil is beneficial in stimulating healing process of the piercing.
- While preparing the salt solution avoid using iodized salt as it might have adverse effect on the healing tissue of the pierced area.
- It is advisable to avoid alcohol, betadine, peroxide or tea tree oil for cleaning the nose piercing. These products are potent disinfectant but they are harsh on the healing tissue.
- Make sure that you wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your piercing.
- Lastly it is advisable not to remove the jewelry while the piercing is still healing.
