Labret piercing is the piercing of the lips. Once you have got your lips pierced you will have to take proper care of it. Some of the important points which you have to remember once you have your lips pierced are as follows:

Wash your mouth with mouth freshener, after having anything to eat.
Clean the front of piercing part with the help of cotton soaked in saline water.
Use lavender oil as it promotes healing and lubricates the wound removing tenderness.
Eat only frozen things such as ice creams etc.
Remove the plague deposition from the jewelry regularly.
Avoid touching the piercing area, also avoid make up in the pierced area.
Avoid smoking and chewing of tobacco for at least 10 days.

Labret Piercing Swelling:

After you have your labret pierced, it is common that your lip will swell. The duration of this swelling varies from individual to individual. In some cases the swelling dissolves in just 2-3 days, while for others it could take a longer time. Drinking cold water in large quantity can help in reducing the swelling time. You can also rub ice over the affected part to reduced pain, itching, swelling.

Make sure that when you get your labret pierced you are using a long stud. This will help you in case of swelling. Otherwise you will have to again go for piercing with a swollen lip and a ball over it. So, always go for a longer stud, you can change it when the healing process is complete.
