Nose piercing requires 10-15 days to heal. In this span of time, you will have to take proper care of the pierced area. Some of the steps in order to take good care of that part are mentioned below:

Remove any of the crusting from inside of the stud by cleaning it with clean cotton soaked in salt water. Never rub it roughly; it can bring out the stud.
Always dry your nose part with the help of soft towel or tissue paper; do the task by patting the area.
Never remove the ring for more than one day otherwise it will close.
Do not go for cleanup etc. for at least 15 days.
Use vitamin – B with Zinc supplements to promote healing.

Use an antibacterial soap to clean the pierced part.
Keep it away from stale make up.
Always clean your hands before touching that part.

Try to minimize smoking while the healing process is on; as smoking extends the time period of healing.
If some kind of infection generates on pierced area then use an antibacterial cream or you can wash it with saline water.
Avoid touching the pierced part; protect it from getting caught in towel or clothes.

Keep yourself from touching the piercing during the healing time as it can cause infection. Avoid picking the nose excessively. Only while cleaning should the piercing be touched. Also wash your hands thoroughly before handling the piercing jewelry.

Avoid applying make-up such as moisturizers, foundation creams at the piercing area. Keep the area as dry as possible. Nose piercing jewelry should not be taken out as the piercing can close in very fast. Even 24 hours is enough for the piercing to close. So, do not take the piercing jewelry out.

Certain metals such as nickel and brass cause allergies in some people. There can be redness, itchiness, blisters at the site if you have an allergic reaction. Hence, if you are allergic to these metals, always inform the piercer to keep yourself safe from allergies. You can choose other metals such as stainless steel for the piercing.

Selecting a good piercing studio is very important if you would like to get a nose piercing. The piercing studio should have trained employees and it should have a health certificate. The studio should be clean and hygeinic. It should use an autoclave – which is a heat sterilization machine. Equipments such as needles should new and disposable for hygeine purposes.
