Ears are the most common part of body which is pierced. The other parts of body are pierced when child attains certain age and become mature enough to decide whether to go for it or not. But piercing of ears is normally done by parents will only.

The parents, who decide to get this piercing done at young age are of the view that it is better to perform this particular piercing, at tender age only. If this is performed at an early age, the child will forget the pain of piercing quickly.

Ear piercing in babies is a general trend. The parents, who are in favor of getting the ear pierced at young age, believe that at such tender age there will be less pain. As the child grows up he will feel more and more pain and may not go for piercing due to the fear of pain.

Moreover, piercing at early age solves the gender identification problems also. if the ears are pierced then a baby girl will not be mistaken for baby boy. And above all small kids look very sweet, fashionable and cute with earrings.

Those who are against it feel it not favorable to get baby’s ear pierced without their knowledge. They are of view that these kids are so small that they cannot judge that getting ear pierced is good for them or not. So, it should not be carried out at such tender age. Once they grow up and start understanding what piercing is all about then, if they want they can go for it, if they do not find it interesting then they will not go for it. So, it must be left on their own will.

Ear piercing for baby boy is a controversial issue. Although the piercing of ears of baby boy has become a common trend but still it involves a lot of controversies. Ear piercing in boys is normally done in single ear only. It gives them a trendy look and keeps them apart from the common male crowd.

Baby boy piercing is not much acceptable. Once the boy becomes sincere and he wish to go for it, then it is fine. But performing it without his will is not suggestible.
