Type of Piercings

Over the centuries, people have had piercings done in all sorts of places on the body for all sorts of reasons. In ancient times, the type of piercings had no specific title and were referred to as for their purpose.
There are the conventional type of piercings such as the ears, nose, and lips. These types of piercings have become mundane and some of you may think them too tame for your liking.

Here are some more unique types of piercings:

  • Tongue piercing

    done through the tongue to give it more drama. Do not be afraid if you take proper care of it, you will not lose your tongue and still be able to speak.

  • Genitals

    for both men and women. This can be done in a number of ways as suits you best.

  • Nape piercing

    that runs a high risk of rejection/migration and therefore the piercing should be done with care.

  • Hip piercing

    done atop the hip bone usually on either sides but you can do it on one side if you please.

  • Madison piercing

    done at the skin in front of the neck at the base of the throat. It has a very high chance of being rejected so do not expect too much.

  • Nipple piercing

    where a needle is pushed through the nipple. Ladies this is most likely going to be painful.

  • Hand web

    where the skin between fingers is pierced, being a surface piercing rejection rate is high.

  • Navel piercings

    also known as belly button piercings. They are usually done on the skin above the navel but some people have done even that below.

  • The

    corset

    that from sheer quantity of numbers is a temporary piercing. It involves a series of piercings on one’s back made to resemble a corset. It can range from 4 to the excess of 15 piercings on each side.
