Hollow Needles

This is the most common type of needles used and comes in a triangular shape. They come in different gauges like from small to large. The size can vary from1 or ½ to 3 inches. Usually the jewellery is of the same size as it follows the needle through the piercing hole.

 

Cannula Needles
Cannula Needles

These are called the Catheter that is encased in plastic tubing. They make the piercing hole just as other needles do. However, the difference is that the plastic material remains in the hole. Piercers use sterilized scissors for removing the tube.

 

Curved Needles
Curved Needles

Curved needles are usually used for ear piercings as these are not used often to perform this procedure. This needle stops them from puncturing the opposite sides of the ear, while this procedure is done.

 

Dermal Punch

Dermal punches are round shaped medical devices that are used by dermatologists. These needles have to be used by professional body piercers who have studies the anatomy of the body. These devices are considered as medical tools and piercers are not allowed to use these needles legally.
