Female body piercings are done according to personal preferences of women. Since the intimate parts of the female body are involved in such types of piercing extreme caution should be taken in selecting the right piercer for the purpose.
Types of body piercing: Some of the female body piercings that are commonly undertaken are mentioned below.
Female clitoral piercing – Piercing is performed on the he knobbed nerve bundle that is connected to sexual stimulation. Due to possible impairment of sexual function, it is very uncommon for a woman to really have her clitoris pierced. In essence, if the tissue is not well formed, this piercing must not be tried. However a clitoral hood piercing is quite safe and can be a source of pleasure for many women.
Female clitoral hood piercing with horizontal placemen: This type of piercing is frequently performed when the woman’s clitoral development is such that the hood does not completely conceal the clitoris with the bead of the piercing ring simply touching the vulnerable bundle of tissue.
Female clitoral hood piercing with vertical placemen: This type is appropriate for women whose clitoral hood conceals the clitoral bundle totally. Used with either a ring or barbell, this piercing is placed in such a manner so that the jewelry can graze or stroke against the clitoris.
Labia-Female body piercing of the vaginal lips: Based on the structure of the body, it is feasible to pierce both the inner or outer labia according to the wishes of the woman concerned. A number of women’s physical structure is suitable for one or the other, for certain women, both would be appropriate.

Healing after female body piercing
The curing of an ordinary wound and the healing of a female piercing is significantly dissimilar. For a normal wound the body simply has to restore and rejoin the injured tissue, but with facial piercing, this process is made difficult by the presence of an unfamiliar substance, the jewelry.
